We have links with several other groups who put on open gardens events every year – in Bedminster, Bristol; London; Amsterdam; and in Bologna, Mantua, Parma and Ferrara in Italy. The Dutch and Italian sites provide English translations.
Several interesting Clifton gardens are always open to the public and well worth a visit at any time of year. During our Open Gardens weekend, several put on special events. The gardens are:
Victoria Square, a large and beautiful garden with a fascinating history.
The Mall Gardens, two lovely linked gardens flanked by graceful Georgian terraces.
St Andrew’s Churchyard, with its striking Lime Tree Walk.
York Place Gardens, a communal garden being ‘wilded’ by conservationist-led residents.
Clifton Hill Meadow, a council-owned grassy slope being transformed into a meadow and 'wildflower lawn' by local volunteers.
Clifton has its own permanent tree trail, indicating the locations of interesting specimens.
